Paula is a recording and concert cellist with 45 years of credits in the world of classical performance and the Los Angeles music industry. She teaches beginning through advanced students.
BIO:

Paula grew up in Bakersfield, CA in a musical family and begin studying cello at eight. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from USC in 1976. There, she studied with Gabor Rejto and coached with Aaron Copland. She studied further at Yale Summer Quartet Program with the Tokyo String Quartet and Raphael Hillyer. She performed extensively with Chick Corea’s Electric Band and the Don Ellis Band, while also playing at festivals around the globe.
As a part of jazz great Chick Corea’s touring band in the late 70’s.
Since playing for Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall album in 1979, she has worked with many of the greatest recording artists of all time, including classics like Andrea Bocelli, Barbara Streisand, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and contemporary luminaries like Taylor Swift, Sarah Bareilles, Adele, Post Malone, and many more.
She has also recorded for hundreds of films, cultivating wonderful relationships with composers like Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Danny Elfman, James Horner, Marco Beltrami, Maria Newman, Mark Isham, and David Campbell.
She has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and has performed for decades with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The New West Symphony, and the Santa Barbara Symphony, and is now a member of the Malibu Coast String Quartet. With the quartet she has recorded extensively on composer Maria Newman's original works.
